| Wedding in the Jail and Baptism | 2008/06/05 10:15 | --- Jason Skipper 2008/06/05 12:59 America/La_Paz I forgot to mention on Saturday that on Sunday we had a wedding in the local jail here in Sucre. A few months ago, one of my disciples met a girl who had just arrived from Peru. She came to visit the father of her son that is in the jail. He led her to Christ and later went to the jail and led him to Christ also. He has been discipling them over the past several months, and on Sunday morning I married this couple there in the jail. | Conference, Cochabamba, Articulation Disorder, Prodigal Month and MORE! | 2008/05/31 19:03 | --- Jason Skipper 2008/05/31 20:06 America/La_Paz Hello Everyone! I'll tell you, I really need to figure out WHY I get so far behind on these updates! I'm developing a theory, but I'm not 100% sure... ;-) I think that we have so many BIG things going on, that I want to give those BIG things justice by writing a lot about them, but since I want to do it well, and I never have enough time to do a good article on them, I just put it off until I do have time. Of course there NEVER is enough t… | 0 Comments |

Sometimes it seems so hard to “Keep Up”, sharing with you all the things that are going on here in our lives and ministry! Mom wrote yesterday wanting to know if we were still alive...8-O That's a sign, showing me that I need to do a little bit better in keeping in touch! | 0 Comments |

We've been incredibly busy over the past month. Things get so hectic sometimes that it's easy to let the “urgent” things dominate the “important” thing in our lives. :-/ In any case, We realize how important it is to keep everyone updated on what is happening here! So let me get started. | 2 Comments |

| Lots of Goals and Enthusiasm | 2008/01/10 06:45 | --- Jason Skipper 2008/01/10 08:30 America/La_Paz Good Morning! A new year always is a great time to sit down, reflect on the past year or years, and set new goals for the upcoming months and year. Many of those personal ones are called resolutions, and often times are short lived. In organizational structures, those goals that we put forth are quite different. They are ideas turned into plans that answer at least two questions... How Much? and When?... After deciding on the goals that one… | 0 Comments |

| Interesting Times | 2007/12/14 06:06 | --- Jason Skipper 2007/12/14 08:27 America/La_Paz A state owned vehicle being burnt last evening in Sucre I personally have never lived in a time like what we are living in Bolivia. It's a time that is quite interesting. Looking at all that is happening here, it seems to be a recipe for disaster. At the same time, there is so much hope behind each side and movement, that people have a load of mixed feelings. Fear, worry, excitement, hope, despair, etc. What will happen? | Norah is Home After D&C | 2007/12/12 15:42 | Norah, Jordan & Derrick a few minutes ago. Norah even put on a smile :-D --- Jason Skipper 2007/12/12 19:26 This afternoon, at about 3:15 PM, Norah went in and got a D&C done on her to clean out her uterus. They were very careful with her, and had to change the type of anesthesia they gave her, because her blood pressure dropped quite a bit since this morning. This morning he pressure was at 95/55, but the doctor told me that it had dropped considerably (I don't know how much) this aftern… | 0 Comments |
| Life is Fun.........ny | 2007/12/10 08:22 | --- Jason Skipper 2007/12/10 12:00 Hi Everyone. I'll tell you, this has been a very interesting time in our lives. We have gone through so much over the past year, that every once in awhile, one wishes everything would just calm down for a time. But, I guess that is what makes life fun. How boring would our lives be if everything was easy and calm? All as I can say is that this has been a crazy year... but that's ok. | 0 Comments |
| Update on Norah | 2007/12/07 18:38 | --- Jason Skipper 2007/12/07 22:16 We got Norah's blood test back, and it shows that she still only has a slight anemia, which is the same as when she left the hospital. That was quite surprising to me and the doctor, but was also welcome news. We were very worried that she had a bad case of anemia. I had been looking up all of these things on the Internet, and I was half convinced that she was experiencing symptoms of Shock that comes from acute anemia. | 0 Comments |
| Update, Scary Night | 2007/12/07 04:30 | --- Jason Skipper 2007/12/07 08:27 Last night we/I had a big scare. Norah has seemed to be getting better, but on Wednesday we went to get another sonogram, and it showed that she still had quite a bit of blood in her uterus. It doesn't seem to be an infection, but a hemorrhage, that's what the doctor said. The weird thing about it all is that until a few days ago, Norah had completely stopped bleeding. | 0 Comments |
| National Strike | 2007/11/28 17:39 | --- Jason Skipper 2007/11/28 21:39 Today, more than half of Bolivia shut down in a strike that aimed to protest the governments latest actions. Six of the nine departments in Bolivia participated in this... Chuquisaca (Sucre), Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, Tarija, Beni and Pando. The government and their main followers, farmers and coca leaf growers, have become much more daring and bold over the past week or so. Yesterday, farmers cut off the entrance to the government's opposition party in the S… | 1 Comment |
| Anarchy | 2007/11/25 13:55 | --- Jason Skipper 2007/11/25 15:04 This has been a crazy week here in Sucre. I don't know how much everyone hears about Bolivian news, but what is happening here is worthy of International attention. For more than a year now, there has been a Constituent Assembly held here in Sucre. This Assembly is working on writing a new Constitution for Bolivia, one that supposedly will champion the poor, bring more equality to the people in Bolivia. | 1 Comment |

As you know, we finally got back to Sucre in late August, after traveling to Buenos Aires, Argentina for a Cell Church conference that was being held there. After returning, we've been so very busy, especially with the church. We've also traveled several times after being home. I traveled to Cochabamba in September and to La Paz in October, and Norah went to La Paz for 2 weeks in… | 3 Comments |

I got busy back in April there, and TOTALLY forgot to write to this. After our trip to Cochabamba, that weekend we had our second Encounter retreat of the year. We had 100 people in that retreat. It was amazing to have that many people... plus it was tough because we've never had that many before. Things went very well. As each of the cell groups continued to … | 2 Comments |

We hope that this new year will bring you great blessing and abundant life from our Lord Jesus Christ. Since we've returned from Buenos Aires, we've just been up to our necks in work. We need a lot more organization, plus we're trying to move some things around so that people… | 0 Comments |

We left Buenos Aires on Friday at 4:30 pm, and flew to Santa Cruz. We stayed in Santa Cruz, and with no problems got to the airport early and flew here. The only thing that I can say is this... We flew with a different airline than usual this time. We flew with Aerosur, instead of Lloyd Aereo Boliviano. Not one flight, to or from Buenos Aires left on times. I gue… | 0 Comments |
